I hear the Louisiana government has $800 million of surplus in this year's budget. The state legistlators are salivating. I thought Joey said that Louisiana had no money to fund roads. We are voting on a one-cent sales tax for about $50 million in projects, do you think we can get a small donation from our hometown governor? Sorry, but the legislators are going to fund personal agenda items such as adding trees to a private golf course.

And it is going to be an election year. Hmmmmm. What do you suppose Blankstare & pals will do ? Seems to me this surplus is due to the rising oil prices and increased sales tax collections. Just like in Lafayette, this will be ignored and those in power will ask for more to do less.
