I borrowed this statement from C B Forgotston's website, thought maybe y'all would agrre with this....The consensus is that LA is not more corrupt than any other state. What distinguishes us from the other states, when it comes to corruption, is our tolerance of corruption.
If these experts are correct and I believe they are, then the problem lies not with government, but with us as citizens. We have the power to change things. The question is whether we have the will. ... Well is it time or not?

A hear ya ab, you just can't get the sheep to take off their clothing to become wolves. People dont care as long as it doesnt affect them and allow this crap to go on without questioning their public officials and holding them responsible for their actions. Then you have the truly blind that dont see that its only when re-election approaches is when these theives and con artist decide to open their mouths and make promises they cant keep and kissin babies. These blind will forget the past and go along with what BS the politician wants to convey today. BAA BAA
Perfect example, all of sudden our State leaders think its important that we get our fair share of the oil revenues from the feds, why, because your gearing up for next year you finally decide to open your mouth and can use this as "I tried to" during your campaigning. What was wrong with doing this when you got into office, and correct me if I am wrong they all have been in office for more than one term, maybe not in exactly their current sworn positions, but they were there. So what the hell were ya'll doing all this time. Like they didnt know this has been going on for decades.
Most all of them are full of you know what.

Want to see real corruption look at any election in St. Martin Parish. The SCRAP that runs this parish buys what ever he wants with all the money he steals from every thing that he is involved in. He owns the SCHOOL BOARD vote, he runs PARISH GOV., he steals from the children, (SECTION 16), he gets what ever he wants and he is not in politics, he just runs it his way with the MONEY he steals. It cost him nothing. What a super SCRAP. People are addicted to his corrupted lifestyle. They love corruption. Its prosperous to them. They are a CLICK.

Heard Mr. Vitter was in St. Martin Parish this week. Wonder if He and that greedy Bas---- are looking for a way to steal the money that Congress will be sending for the new road they are going pass through his property. Do not worry he will make sure that the road passes on his land. He will help design the road. Opps, he has done that already. The rich just get richer. If you are wondering, it is I-49.

OK, you've got me wondering. I-49 runs through St. Martin Parish now? I always thought it started at I-10 in Lafayette Parish and ran north from there. (Not east through St. Martin Parish.) Could be wrong, I guess.

The "future I-49 corridor" will connect Lafayette to New Orleans, and relieve a lot of the Baton Rouge traffic. I use U S 90 now, although with all the red lights, it does not always save time, but traffic is much less. At issue is the route it will take; It originally was to follow U S 90 but now I am sure that people will see a need to develop their property and re-route the road.

I am a little amazed about the turn of events regarding our elected politicians. William Jefferson, caught on tape accepting a bribe, and a freezer full of marked bills. Robert Livingston, a conservative REPUBLICAN acknowledges affairs while in office. Now Senator Vitter, conservative REPUBLICAN, is caught using call girls in Washington D.C., and it turns out that he was a client of the "Canal Street Madam" as well. This was apparently a commonly known fact. I know of some local court officials with similar weakness, and I have no respect for them accordingly.
These people are always on their high horse about others miss-deeds. The old "pot calling the kettle black" situation. I guess they think no one notices them because they are a judge or other court official.
I was always taught that the flag or the bible was the first refuge of scoundrels, and I note all of the above mentioned people are always wearing a lapel flag pin and go to church. Makes you wonder doesn't it ?

well Lisa, I have learned that if someone has to tell you they are ethical, honest, religious etc. they probably are not.
Likes to be dressed in diapers ? How on earth could he face his fellow senators ?
I will start paying attention to local officials draped in flags. I am curious about a few that I have heard rumors about. I would love to see that break before elections.

Yes, Lisa, it is a bit disconcerting. Officials do tend to seek refuge with a bible in their hand or a flag draped about them, all in an effort to turn away criticism. The look at me, “I'm a bible totin’ God fearin', red white and blue American” syndrome. In this day and age, anything put on paper or on computer is kept forever by someone, somewhere. Phone numbers, as in Vitter’s case, letters, e-mails, all have a way of finding the light of day at the least opportune moment for the official who committed the indiscretion

I will never vote for Vitter. He asked for Clinton to resign for moral issues. Were he an honorable person, he would do the same. I thought Clinton should go because of the perjury issue. But then I did not want Al Gore in a position of power.
I always thought Jindal would run against Landrieu, now ?? He may have to save the republicans in Louisiana.

You know, that in this day and age, e-mails are archived, phone calls logged and records kept. Often with out the person having any knowledge that this is being done.
A friend of mine that owns a computer business tell me, that e-mails are the easiest to acquire. Especially if the the office runs their own e-mail server. Somebody has to be the administrator of the e-mail system and they can set up phantom boxes where everying sent to or from one e-mail address is copied to the phantom box and then offloaded to another computer ouside of the office.
Same with those fancy new IP phones. His computer geeks tell me, ones and zeros are ones and zeros and it does not matter if it is e-mail or an IP phone call.
Not a nice thing to do, but it happens more often than one might think.

I do not condone the personal actions of Mr Vitter; he has proven to me that he is a liar, a cheat, and a hypocrite. Were he what he says he is, he would remove himself from public life and service.
As for the whole issue of prostitution, why don't we legalize that business? Why is that illegal but pornography is legal. Let our politicians act like they really care and legalize this business and force health checks. Venereal disease, HIV, AIDS etc are rampant and unchecked. In Europe one can practice prostitution but they must have a license and health card.
I think Vitter should devote himself to that project, he seems qualified.

Lets talk about our leaders, The reason these people do not want to show what their income is coming from is that their are so many of them that are paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by the oil companies to do what they want them to do not for what is right for the state. Some of the most powerful leaders on all of the comitties are paid by lobbiest to do for them not for the public, I would call that conflic of interst. Just yesterday one of the great ones came on TV and said, La. has some of the best ethic laws in America. BLAAAAAAA. They all need to be sent to prison. They make laws and inforce the ones they want only when it suits their greed.

Well, I am not rich, but I intend on buying an expensive tv that I have had my eye on and I expect to save $200 on state sales tax. If I could save, I would buy a car but that exceeds the tax limit.
I hope that does not make me a crook in your book.

Mr. Langlinase got a great gift for a few tears, but he should have gotten a big sentence in prison for a few years. What a great justice system we have. Get caught stealing the publics taxes and helping your rich friends get what ever they need, do not worry our great Judges will give you a patch and a fine to pay, but the fine is only a portion of what you have already stole. Where is the great LAWS that they vote in used. What a click. He shoul be in prison with the drug dealers......
