Hope all list members got to read today's Editorial in the Daily Advertiser. Much to my surprise they 1) came out loud and clear 2) came out against a tax and 3) criticized the school board for doing a less than exemplary job with the money they have. Wonders will never cease but even this very cynical reader has to congratulate them on that one. Now if they can only take of the blinders for the rest of our governments Fubar  |

I agree; was a shock to see them say, "Hey, fire the superintendent,he is doing a poor job". A guest column a few days ago said the school board was racist (yes, columnist was black, and lived in Texas) because they would not let the super sit with the board. Did the writer miss the point that Dr Easton is, in fact, black ?
I sent my children to parochial schools.

The Advertiser finally did something right. I think Easton should be fired...not because he is black but because he needs to be held accountable for the drop in district performance scores. To add insult to injury, he just got a raise on top of his $100,000+ salary? You could say that the past school board allowed him free reign and now it has come back to haunt us.
What's more, N.P. Moss Middle School is housed in one of the newest buildings in the parish and consistently has the lowest scores. So it's not the building that's the problem, but what is going on inside of it.
I am steadfast against new taxes for the school board. I am saving my money to send my daughter to Catholic school!
