Well the traffic has just gotten worse since I last posted, and of course our LCG is just now trying to put some new roads in after all the people have now moved into their subdivisions. City planning, a joke.

Well, as if we needed more proof, I understand that Tony Trammel, our city traffic director is unhappy that most people refuse to pay the Redflex people their illegal taxso Trammels' solution is to attach it to our electric bill. This will be implemented after the fall elections. Tell me again this is about public safety and not money for the city.
And BTW Mr Mayor-president, why don't you object to local money being funnelled to Az/Australia on these tickets. The fools who do pay them are sending 50% of the money away and out of our local economy!

When the government gives us economic impact figures for events such as High School Playoffs, events @ Cajundome etc. they say each dollar turns over maybe 7 times. Why doesen't the same rule apply to Redflex cameras and the negative impact on the local economy ?

City planning, a joke. I totally agree TBear! LCG tends to build new roads without maintaining what they already have. A prime example of LCG waste is the $3.5 million Camellia Blvd & Johnston intersection. They intended this to be one of those revolutionary "continuous-flow intersections". It should be called a "continuous-stop intersection". How can you have continuous flow if you add 4 lights to one intersection?  I have seen so many close calls there because out of town drivers have no idea what to do. You would think that if LCG could afford to buyout and destroy Riverside Subdivision that the could at least design a better intersection. |
