Read the interesting article in todays paper: www.theadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060123/NEWS01/601230309/1002Seems now they want to delay it a year more and put the blame on the State "because of drainage work required by the state, said Pat Logan, city-parish associate public works director." They knew this all along and should have been obtaining right-aways and correcting the drainage issue long time ago.

Did anyone see the guest editorial in the paper today? Was by Pat LeBlanc, and was discussing a no nonsense approach to Verot School Road, and keeping up with growth. I know it will not happen because to accomplish the proposal would require Governor BlankStare to make a decision and actually commit resources.
I do not think any law prevents a locale from funding a project on their own if the state has no funds, and anyone who read Mr LeBlanc's comments (he is an architect and head of homebuilders association), will see that traffic may double in next two years. Do we really want to wait for that to do something ?
Perhaps our "planning commission" should place a moratorium on construction until roads are able to handle proposed traffic. Nah, that would require planning, and might upset some builders (contributers).

I'm sure he is aggravated with the traffic too since he lives on Verot so he knows what its all about. And your right they should stop construction until having the roads to handle the traffic.

Would Mr. LeBlanc be so passionate about the delay of the project if he had not recently built a mansion on Verot?
