has anyone out there been through the court system in Lafayette ? What was your impression of the operation? Been through child support? had to deal with judges that were not qualified? Note connection between certain lawyers and the judges ?

Oh yes they have connections and some, not all, of the judges favor some attorneys and it shows in their precedings.

The worst thing to happen to the Judiciary was the creation of those silly sub-districts. Judges are supposed to be representative of the law, not elected representatives of the people. The silly subdistricts allow marginally competent judges to be elected. The only thing is, they practice their incompetence over 3 parishes, not just their subdistrict.

Those sub districts are the only way some of those people could ever get elected, and is based upon the premise that a "minority" judge will somehow be more impartial when dealing with minorities. Blind Justice indeed.

Ronnie, I take exception to your comments. My observations on the Judiciary were without attention to race. I know some very fine black jurists, I know some very fine white jurists. I know jurists, both black and white, that think “Shepardize” is to lead a flock of grazing animals around a pasture. Incompetence knows no boundaries and is blind (seemingly as is Justice) to the color of a person’s skin.

was not really making a racial comment, however, the sole purpose of the sub-districts was to make certain that minority judges were elected. What kind of message does that send? Have you ever observed the preferential treatment given to offenders in New Orleans by these so called impartial jurists? That is what is fundamentally wrong with our state.......we cowtow to the squeaky wheel rather than do what is proper and our officials are shamelessly pandering for votes.....they are all starting to look and sound like Hillary.
