For anyone who may be interested, here's the adress of our city parish charter. Take a look at the utilities section, I find it interesting every time someone from the admin says to a councilman or constituant you can't do that "because it violates the "charter", I'm not so sure that the "charter" has any validity left after being violated so many times by our government. www.lafayettela.gov/pdf/Council/HomeRuleCharter.pdf

I just read that a judge has ruled that the city must follow the "charter" and "hear" customer protests over allegeded overcharges by LUS. Wow amazing, after all this time , there was never a procedure in place to allow rate payers to question how much LUS charges. Compare this to the procedures in place conerning the public service commission hearings on all rate cases on private utilities. What a deal LUS and this governmnet has had, charging anything they wanted without the rate payers being able to protest. Now that's a fair plan? Yeah right.

Here's the "charter" if you care to read it. I can think of many many tthings I would change. joey promised that one of the first things he was going to do IF elected was to re-convene the "charter commission" and straighten out some things. Guess he must have forgotten that promise along with many many others.
