I just saw on the evening news employees of the school board will no longer be able to smoke on the school campus, what they really need to do is DRUG TEST... I am not a teacher but I have 2 small children attending school and it would please me more to see the faculty screened for drugs rather than the use of tobacco products which I might add is stilll legal....They worry about the petty things, how about the things that can really make a difference in our childrens lives.

That is a good point Lilypad, its really ashame that we trust our teachers with out small children and really have to worry about anyone abusing drugs. Just because they are teachers does not make them immune from drug use.
In fact I think I will start another poll for drug testing teachers!!!

i understand that teachers and school officals need to make a good example for students,- however two points- i think that example should be provided in the classroom, smoke or not, - two - don't think that school personnel provide that much influence on our kids- tv and playstation and music have taken care of that

Big Brother is watching.
Smoking, a bad and expensive habit, is perfectly legal. How dare the school board be involved in personal matters like that. If I were in school 6 hours a day with some of those kids I see, I would not only smoke, but need a drink for lunch.....
It is not the school boards place to regulate matters of personal choice among teachers...only students (and they, after all, are children)
