Went with some friends last weekend for crawfish. They weren't huge but they were delicious as always. There's something about eating crawfish in a place that's probably hosed down every night that's rather "appealing." No place in Lafayette compares.

Since Black's closed we haven't been to Abbeville in a while. Funny, we never think about Richard's but it is good. Great to see ya Jag, been a while.

Yeah, abbd, every now and then I crawl out of my hole, but I'm a regular reader.
Black's is closed??? See how much I know! I liked eating there too, but it's been years. Remember when they were pretty much a hole in the wall like Richard's but then moved to that nicer place? It changed the eating experience but the food was still good.

Has anyone eaten at Myran's in Arnaudville? Went last night but the wait for crawfish was one hour, so I ordered fried catfish and onion rings (so much for my new year's diet!). To top that off, free ice cream is included, and I never pass up free ice cream. At 7 p.m. the parking lot was packed and people were waiting outside for a table. The smart ones were phoning in orders to go. The place is a little bigger than Richard's and has a room overlooking the bayou. I highly recommend it.

BTW, when I said in the initial post that no place in Lafayette beats Richard's, I'd forgotten about Dwight's. Their crawfish and BBQ have got to be the best in Lafayette.

I love dwights too, btw did you know the barbecue is not really barbecued, its baked in some big rotisery ovens, that do a pretty good job and seems like it is barbecued.
